Ever since established organizations like Cloud9 and T1 decided to leave the South Korean scene, professional players have been at a loss for their future.

After the end of First Strike, many teams did indeed decide to part with their Korean rosters due to the introduction of a potential new rule that would end the ability to manage more than one competitive team in VALORANT.

Cloud9 recently parted ways with its roster, which was led by Xeta. The T1 organization followed the same path, which, according to rumors, also decided to part with its South Korean team.

In response to the aforementioned incidents, Riot Games has decided to take a firm stand in an attempt to support abandoned players who have been victims of the recent professional scene reshuffle. The developer has launched a new support program, "VALORANT Esports Team Support Program", which will offer additional monetary incentives of up to KRW 50,000,000 (approximately $ 45,000) for Korean organizations only if they meet the requirements described below:

  1. The organization must have a complete roster including a coach.
  2. A team must be present in the Challengers Finals at every stage or every time a championship is held.
  3. The organization must provide players with a bootcamp or play house.
  4. The organization must have an active YouTube/Twitch channel or any other social media account.

With only a handful of large organizations, notably Vision Strikers, TNL Esports and SeolHaeOne Prince remaining on the scene, the proposed program could lead to exponential growth for other teams in the professional scene.
