Valorant Patch 13.08: Map Rating, Corrode Update and Mass Cheater Bans
Riot Games has released the patch notes for Valorant Patch 13.08, which brings Act 6 into the game, the last act of the 2026 season. The update has two main additions. Map Rating is a new system that shows how well you play on each map. Riot has also published stats on its mass ban wave against cheaters and bots. Corrode has been updated, and the competitive map pool has changed: Ascent and Split are out, while Bind and Corrode are back. The patch also brings a new Battle Pass and a set of bug fixes.
Valorant Patch 13.08 Notes: All Changes

The first and most important part of the update is the new Map Rating system, which grades your performance on different maps.
Map Rating and Performance Score Changes
Map Rating tracks how you play on a specific map and how that changes over time. The rating is a number from 0 to 500 plus a letter grade from C to S. It is calculated from four stats: overall win rate, attacker win rate, defender win rate, and Performance Score. Recent matches count more than older ones, so your Map Rating can climb quickly once you start playing better on a map.
You can check your rating in Agent Select, on the end-of-game screen, and in the Career tab. Career also has a new navigation bar with Rank Legacy, Accolades, and Map Rating pages. Other players can’t see your rating. Map Rating works in Competitive and Premier. Everyone starts from zero, so matches played before the patch don’t count.
Riot also explained the Performance Score changes that went live back in Patch 13.06. The developers noticed that the system sometimes overvalued utility and other support actions and undervalued frags. To fix that, damage, kills, and deaths now have more impact on the score, including first bloods and first deaths. Chamber got his own adjustments so the score better reflects how he uses his abilities.
Corrode Update and Map Pool Changes
Corrode launched more than a year ago, and Riot has used the data it collected since then to rework parts of the map. The main problem was that defenders took too long to rotate between sites. Riot shortened the defender paths from spawn to the back of A Site and B Site, so defenders can now get to retakes faster.

Mid has changed too. Attackers used to funnel into Lower Mid through a single narrow choke while defenders spammed the half wall. That wall is now metal and sits one meter further out. Spamming through it is less effective, and players on Top Mid can no longer see attackers moving into A Link. The boxes at the back of Lower Mid were moved toward B and now have a jump-up. The nearby wall was raised so players can’t peek over it from those boxes.

The A Site plant zone was adjusted as well, so playing post-plant from A Link is now less effective.
The Valorant map pool has also rotated. The updated Corrode and Bind are back in the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, while Ascent and Split have been removed.

Valorant Act 5 Ban Stats

Riot has also published penalty stats for Act 5. The numbers only cover accounts that received a full ban of 3 days or longer between August 18 and October 1.
Repeated AFK and gameplay abuse led the list with more than 288,000 banned accounts. Cheaters came second, with over 171,000 bans. The other categories:
- Rank manipulation – 76,000+
- Toxicity – 74,000+
- Botting – 54,000+
- Streamsniping and instalocking tools – 14,000+
Riot split rank manipulation into several groups. Boostees, players who had their rank raised by someone else, took the most bans at more than 46,000. Another 17,000+ bans went to hitchhikers, players who climbed by queuing with much stronger teammates. Over 11,000 boosters were banned, and another 3,000+ penalties covered wintrading, account selling, and other violations.
Toxicity bans were also broken down: over 39,000 for inappropriate text chat and over 36,000 for inappropriate voice comms.
Riot admits there is still a lot of work to do. The developers ask players to keep reporting in-game, since those reports help improve cheat and abuse detection.
