100 Thieves Reunites with Sean “bang” Bezerra After a Year Away
100 Thieves has officially re-signed Sean "bang" Bezerra, bringing the Controller player back to the roster exactly one year after his departure.
“Glad to be back and excited to show the fans what this team can do,” said bang following the announcement. The organization teased his return with a short clip featuring the Recon Phantom, a weapon skin strongly associated with bang and his signature playstyle. During his first stint with 100 Thieves, bang became known as one of the most precise aimers in the game.
A Tough Year with Sentinels
Bang’s return follows a one-season spell with Sentinels, where he joined during the team’s rebuild phase. Brought in to fill the massive gap left by TenZ’s retirement, bang faced immense expectations. However, the team struggled to find consistent form — failing to secure a single title. Sentinels finished second twice in regional play behind G2 Esports, and third in another event behind G2 and eventual world champions NRG.
From Rising Star to Key Veteran
Since debuting in 2020, bang has represented several notable North American Valorant teams during the pre-partnership era, including Phoenix1, Serenity, On The Way, and TSM. Early in his career, he competed alongside or against recognizable names like brawk, Derrek, and future 100 Thieves teammate Boostio.
100 Thieves’ 2025 Ambitions
After a promising 2024 season that saw 100 Thieves lift a regional trophy and qualify for an international event, expectations for 2025 were high. Yet the year started on a disappointing note — the team crashed out early at the Americas Kickoff, finishing 9th–12th.
Adapting to the Tejo meta proved challenging at first, but the squad eventually found rhythm, going 3-2 in Stage 1 and advancing to the playoffs. Despite a lower-bracket run that included eliminating NRG, they fell narrowly to G2 Esports in a tense 16–14 finish on the final map.
In Stage 2, 100 Thieves replaced in-game leader Boostio with Kess from QoR, shifting toward a double-Duelist meta. The team repeated a 3–2 group stage record and another lower-bracket exit, showing flashes of improvement but still short of their championship aspirations.
A Familiar Core and Renewed Chemistry
With bang’s return, 100 Thieves now fields a familiar and well-balanced roster. He reunites with Asuna and Cryocells, with whom he built strong synergy in the past. The lineup also includes vora as in-game leader and Timotino in the Duelist role. On the coaching side, Laurynas “Nbs” Kisielius steps in as head coach, while Carl “d00mbr0s” Sandgren provides strategic support as assistant coach.
