Veto Is Here to Shake Up Valorant

Riot Games has officially introduced Veto, the newest agent coming to Valorant — and he’s about to change the game in a big way. The first teaser gave us a glimpse of someone capable of canceling other agents’ abilities, but that’s only the beginning.

Meet Veto, a Sentinel from Senegal who underwent mysterious transformations that granted him incredible powers. He may be human, but his abilities make him feel almost superhuman — and that’s exactly what makes him so exciting.

A Sentinel Unlike Any Other

Veto’s toolkit looks powerful from the start. His abilities let him teleport across bomb sites and, most impressively, neutralize enemy utilities. That means he can instantly disable things like Gekko’s Wingman, Raze’s grenades, or even Sage’s wall — without firing a single shot. One quick ability use, and the threat is gone.

But his reveal trailer shows even more. In addition to his teleportation tricks, Veto can create zones of immunity, protecting himself and possibly teammates from enemy abilities. His ultimate ability appears to make him completely immune to all forms of enemy utility — even Brimstone’s orbital strike!

A Game-Changer for the Current Meta

Given how heavily Valorant’s current meta revolves around utility usage, Veto seems perfectly timed. Players have been asking for someone who can counter ability spam, and Riot seems to have delivered exactly that. Expect his pick rate to skyrocket during his first weeks after release, as players experiment with his potential.

Too Strong for His Own Good?

Still, there’s a fine line between powerful and overpowered. On paper, Veto does everything: teleportation, ability denial, and immunity. Riot Games will have to strike a balance — ensuring he feels strong and skillful to play without becoming frustrating to face. If using him comes down to just planting a gadget or pressing a single button, he could easily become broken.

For now, one thing’s clear: Veto is the most disruptive Sentinel Valorant has ever seen, and his arrival marks a new era of counterplay and creativity on the battlefield.
