Valorant Update 7.07: Cypher's Ultimate Buff and Rank Restriction Reversal

Valorant's latest update, version 7.07, has arrived with significant changes. Notable among these changes is the adjustment to the recent rank restrictions introduced in the 7.06 update. Additionally, Cypher, one of the game's agents, receives a noteworthy enhancement to his ultimate ability. The update also includes various bug fixes, particularly addressing Premier and other core aspects of the game.

Cypher players will be pleased with the update, as it ensures that the Sentinel's ultimate, Neural Theft, will now successfully complete even if Cypher is eliminated during its use. For those who don't play Cypher, the previously introduced "5 stack" rank restriction has been lifted. This restriction was initially implemented to combat boosting.

Valorant Update 7.07: Cypher's Ultimate Buff and Rank Restriction Reversal 1

Here are the complete patch notes for Valorant's update 7.07:

COMPETITIVE UPDATES

After considering player feedback, the recent rank restriction imposed on 5-stacks in patch 7.06 has been removed. The decision to lift this restriction stems from recognizing the importance of allowing players to enjoy flexibility when playing with friends, even though the restriction was initially introduced to prevent illegitimate boosting. While boosting remains a concern for competitive integrity, a long-term solution that doesn't hinder players' ability to play with friends in a 5-stack is being worked on.

MAP UPDATES

  • Haven: Updated the visual effects for destructible door panels at Mid Doors/Garage to improve visibility as they fall away.

PERFORMANCE UPDATES

  • Enabled multithreaded rendering for discrete Intel GPUs and reduced the required CPU core count.

BUG FIXES:General

  • In patch 7.06, a bug that enabled the game to output surround sound under certain conditions was fixed. However, the surround mix was untested and unsupported, as Valorant currently only supports stereo and mono sound output. For those using headphones, an HRTF setting is offered to simulate surround sound. It is not recommended to use the HRTF setting in-game alongside other surround sound virtualization software, as this may result in double processing. Note that other surround sound virtualization software cannot derive surround sound information from the stereo mix.

Agent

Cypher:

  • Neural Theft (X) now completes even if Cypher dies after casting.
  • Fixed an issue where you could remain blinded if spectating a flash through Cypher's Spycam (E) as the round ended.

Gekko:

  • Dizzy's (E) enemy detection range is now correctly reduced while inside Viper's Pit (X) ability.
  • Premier

    • Fixed an issue where the Attacker team takes priority over the Defender team in the Overtime vote.
    • Fixed a bug where a second timer bar would appear after the "Choose Side" vote had already ended.
    • Fixed a bug where certain scenarios would cause subsequent Overtime Priority votes to occur in the following round.

Valorant's update 7.07 is currently available on PC through the Riot Games client, PC Game Pass and the Epic Games Store.
