Riot Games has decided to double the prize pool for the Valorant Champions 2023 tournament
Riot Games has announced a significant increase in the prize pool for Valorant Champions 2023. This year, teams will be competing for an astonishing $2.25 million.
The generous prize money will be boosted through the sale of a special bundle featuring in-game skins dedicated to the tournament. In the previous year, 2022, the revenue from the bundle sales amounted to over $18 million, which was fairly distributed among the participating teams.
The new prize pool of $2.25 million will be the largest in the history of this discipline. Previously, it had only reached the one-million-dollar mark on two occasions. However, the reason behind Riot Games' decision to increase the prize pool is not disclosed.
The VALORANT Champions 2023 tournament will take place from August 6th to August 26th in Los Angeles. The initial stages of the competition will be held at the Shrine Auditorium, while the "Final Four" will be hosted at the KIA Forum stadium, with a capacity of 17,500 spectators.
