Rumors: VCT Game Changers 2023 season in Europe will start in April

According to the Dot Esports portal, the season of the VCT Game Changers 2023 series in Europe will begin in early April. Riot Games is expected to officially release dates and details for the new competitive season in the coming weeks.

The VCT Game Changers 2023 series will begin with an open qualifier in the first week of April, after which only sixteen teams, including the top four from last season, will advance to the first split group stage. It is not yet known which teams will receive direct invitations, but there is likely to be a place among them for G2 Gozen.

Details on which last year's teams will automatically qualify for this stage have yet to be revealed, but VALORANT fans shouldn't be surprised to see G2 Gozen among the selected teams.

The group stage of the first split will divide the participants into two equal groups of teams. At the end of the group stage, the top six teams will play in a double elimination bracket. Here, the top three teams will be determined, which will advance to the playoff stage. The team finishing last in each group will be sent to the Contenders Series Two tournament later in 2023.

The six teams advancing to the playoffs will have to fight in a double elimination bracket. All matches will be played in BO3 format, with the exception of the lower and upper bracket finals, which will be played in BO5 format.

After the champion of the first VCT Game Changers 2023 split in Europe is determined, the Contenders series will be held. Teams from all over Europe will be able to participate through open qualifiers, but only two will qualify for the second split.

Recall that last season, Riot Games held its first season as part of the Game Changers series. At the end of the year, the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Game Changers Championship was organized, the winner of which was the G2 Gozen team.
