effys led Version1 line-up
North American esports organization Version1 has announced the appointment of effys as the head coach of their VALORANT roster. Interestingly, the 30-year-old Canadian was previously a club player, but left the team at the end of last season.
Very excited to work with this super talented group, I've never met more motivated players and I can't wait to help them reach their peak. Therefore, I will take a break from competition, as this will be my only goal for the upcoming season. Thank you all for your support.
effys joined Version1 last February when the North American club signed NeverDone. In two seasons, the 30-year-old Canadian helped the team win the Knights Monthly Gauntlet - March and Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship - Open 4, as well as reach the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals.
Moreover, together with the team, he took part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík, where he took 5-6th place.
However, last season turned out to be a complete disappointment for Version1. In the end, the organization failed to get into the affiliate program, having to say goodbye to its members, including effys himself.
However, the North American club has recently assembled a new team that will perform both on the male scene and as part of the Game Changers series. The team is currently playing in VALORANT Challengers 2023: North America Split 1 - Last Chance Qualifier.
Updated Version1 roster for the VALORANT discipline:
- alexis
- meL
- noia
- florescent
- Sarah
- effys (head coach)
