Rumors: G2 Esports signed former Version1 coach
According to authoritative insider George Geddes, the European esports organization G2 Esports has signed a former Version1 coach. As a result, Immi will build the team's roster for the next competitive season.
Immi has been Version1's trainer for the past two seasons. Under the guidance of the 33-year-old British specialist, the team became the winner of the Knights Monthly Gauntlet - March and Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship - Open 4, and also made it to the TOP-2 at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals. In addition, the team took part with him in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík, where they took 5-6th place.
It is reported that Immi will be recruiting players for the next G2 Esports roster, which will play as part of the Challengers series. At the same time, tournaments can begin at the end of this year, without waiting for the start of the next VCT 2023 season.
Recall that the G2 Esports organization was not included in the final list of partners for participation in the European or American League. According to rumors, the club was refused participation after a scandal involving Carlos Rodriguez, the former CEO of the organization. In addition, before that, G2 Esports planned to acquire the XSET roster, but as a result, the deal did not take place.
However, the European club decided to stay in the discipline in order to try their luck in the Challengers series. At the same time, G2 Esports managed to say goodbye to its former roster, in particular, by selling mixwell to Team Heretics.
Possible composition of G2 Esports in the VALORANT discipline:
