vexel is the new Cloud9 trainer
vexel has become the new VALORANT coach for Cloud9 's main roster. The Canadian specialist announced this on his Twitter, noting that he has been working with the team for the past month.
Due to a hiatus from rebuilding the Academy, I've been promoted to the core roster of Cloud9, which I've been working with since early July as we focus on the VCT 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifier. With love to all the players I have worked with; See you in the next chapter.
vexel has led Cloud9 Academy for the past ten months. Under the guidance of a Canadian specialist, the team took second place in Trovo Titans North America, NSG: Summer Championship - Philadelphia and NSG: Summer Championship - Open 13.
However, last week the North American organization decided to drop its youth roster, disbanding all players. In turn, vexel was promoted to coach of the first team, with whom he successfully worked at last year's VALORANT Champions 2021 (5th-8th place).
According to insider George Geddes, North American esports organizations The Guard, TSM, Cloud9, NRG, and Version1 have moved closer to the VALORANT partner league by being shortlisted for the next round of qualifiers. Probably, the decision to part with the youth team was made due to participation in the affiliate program for the next season.
Currently, the North American team continues to perform within the MCT - MEL Valorant Premiership - Season 3 Stage 2. Already at the beginning of next month, Cloud9 will take part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifier, where they will compete for one ticket to VALORANT Champions 2022.
From now on, Cloud9's VALORANT roster is as follows:
- mitch
- leaves
- Xeppaa
- vanity
- curry
- JamezIRL, m1cks and vexel (coaching staff)
