Akrew prepares to disband VALORANT roster
According to insider George Geddes, the North American esports organization Akrew intends to leave the competitive scene and is preparing to disband the VALORANT roster. Probably the reason for this decision was the partner system, which will operate in the tactical shooter from Riot Games from next year.
The team is likely to join the list of other organizations that left the scene before the introduction of the partnership system next year. This tournament system will function by encouraging teams to enter competitions at the highest level. According to several sources, a number of top organizations have moved on to the next stage after submitting an application that will likely include the most popular teams.
Update
The North American organization has confirmed its withdrawal from the VALORANT discipline.
The last line-up was formed at the end of last year. During this time, the North American team managed to win several championships of the NSG: Winter Championship and Knights Arena Monthly Gauntlet - December series, and also made it to the top three at NSG: Winter Championship, Proving Grounds - April Anarchy and NSG: Summer Championship - Open 12.
However, the team did not gain much fame, although they applied to join the partner league for the next season. And yet, given other examples, Akrew's candidacy is unlikely to please the organizers.
Akrew, who applied for the partnership on June 10th, may return to VALORANT as soon as the details of the TIER-2 scene become known. At the same time, not so long ago, the esports organization parted ways with its coaching staff led by Salah, who joined OG LDN UTD.
It should be noted that at present the team is playing in the MCT - MEL Valorant Premiership - Season 3 Stage 2. Based on the results of one round played, Akrew has a victory over Cosmic Divide (2:0).
Right now Akrew's VALORANT roster looks like this:
- Gucc107
- neon
- Paincakes
- ZachaREEE
- jovahnii
- Linte (manager)
