Version1 plans to replace Zander
According to insider George Geddes, North American esports organization Version1 intends to make changes to the VALORANT roster by parting ways with Zander. The club are already looking to strengthen their squad, while the 20-year-old Canadian will move to the bench and start looking for a new team.
It is reported that Version1 does not intend to make other changes to the starting lineup. Moreover, Wardell, who has been a stand-in since the end of April, will not return to the main team.
Zander joined Version1 at the end of last year. In six months, the 20-year-old Canadian helped the team take 5th-6th place in the VCT 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, as well as reach the quarterfinals at the NSG: Winter Championship. However, the North American team failed to qualify for the VCT 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers, casting doubt on their intention to play in Istanbul at the end of the season.
Version1 intends to compete in several TIER-3 championships to try out potential newcomers. In turn, Zander is unlikely to sit idle for long, as demand for the Canadian captain is observed from several clubs.
Currently, Version1's VALORANT roster is as follows:
- effys.
- penny.
- Zellsis.
- wippie.
- Zander.
- Wardell (stand-in).
- Immi (head coach).
