G2 Gozen became the champion of VCT 2022: Game Changers EMEA Series 1
The G2 Gozen team became the champion of VCT 2022: Game Changers EMEA Series 1. The European team was the best among all participants in the championship, which was held online from January 24 to February 6. In the grand final of the G2 championship, Gozen outplayed Guild X with a score of 3:1 (Icebox - 16:14; Split - 4:13; Ascent - 13:7; Bind - 13:4).
We can say that G2 Gozen went through the entire tournament path in one breath, as the team successively closed Sangal Esports Female (2:0), SuperMassive Blaze Female (2:0), noOrg (2:0) and Guild X (2:0), thereby making it to the grand final of the championship.
The showdown began for G2 Gozen with a strong-willed ending on the Icebox map. However, after 20 minutes the team experienced the bitterness of disappointment in Split, thus allowing the opponent to level the score in the series. Nevertheless, the team managed to turn the tide of the match, showing a confident game on Ascent and Bind, and at the same time getting the first victory in the new season.
