Rocket League Season 16 Unveils Spooky New Content: BMW Cars, Legendary Beasts, and More!
Rocket League has unveiled details about its upcoming Season 16 content, which includes everything from new BMW cars to eerie car accessories, all set to be released on September 4. The theme for this season centers around legendary creatures like Sasquatch, Chupacabra, and other mythical beasts.
With each new season, Psyonix, the developer behind Rocket League, refreshes the game with a unique theme. Previous seasons have showcased a range of moods, from the vibrant, comic-inspired atmosphere of Season 6 to the relaxed vibe of Season 10. The current season has a punk aesthetic, but the upcoming Season 16 promises to take a darker turn, incorporating elements of horror folklore into its content.
Psyonix aims to introduce a somber, mysterious atmosphere to the game with items that pay tribute to mythical creatures from popular legends. The new season will feature the Drift Woods arena, where matches take place at dusk in a secluded wilderness setting. Two new vehicles, the BMW 1 Series and BMW 1 Series RLE, will join Rocket League's roster, both customizable with spooky gear like Sasquatch Print Wheels and a Mothman Decal. Additionally, the developers have enhanced the post-demolition camera, allowing it to follow the car’s path from destruction to respawn. Season 16 will run until December 4, 2024.
More horror-themed car accessories will be available through the Rocket Pass tiers. Players can outfit their cars with the Chupacabra Topper, which features a beast perched on the roof, or the Mothman Antenna, depicting a winged creature. With over 70 tiers of rewards, both free and Premium passes offer extensive customization options. Tournament rewards include special items like the Rocketmancer Goal Explosion, a new addition to Rocket League’s goal explosion effects. Furthermore, new competitive tournament slots have been added for all regions, including a new 3AM UTC (11PM ET) time slot for North American players.
With October approaching, Rocket League Season 16 arrives just in time to deliver a Halloween-inspired experience with its beast-themed rewards. The abundance of new content should give fans plenty of reasons to dive back into the game in the coming weeks.
