Waiffer joins Astralis coaching staff
Danish esports organization Astralis has announced the appointment of Waiffer to the position of Assistant Head Coach for their Rainbow Six roster. As a result, the 21-year-old Costa Rican specialist will help the team in the upcoming Six Invitational 2023, where Astralis will try to get as far as possible.
Give Waiffer a warm welcome as he joins our coaching staff for Rainbow Six. With only 32 days left until the start of the Six Invitational 2023, we are pleased to announce that Waiffer has joined the Astralis roster as an assistant coach. See you in Montreal.
Waiffer started his coaching career back in 2020, but has achieved his first success relatively recently. Coaching the Wichita Wolves, the 21-year-old Costa Rican specialist became the champion of the North American Challenger League 2022: Stage 1, and also took third place at the SCS Season 6 - Stand Alone Tournament.
The last club in Waiffer's coaching career was Luminosity Gaming. Here he managed to bring the team to the top three at the North American Challenger League 2022: Stage 2, North American Challenger League 2022: Stage 3 and North American League - 2022 - Challenger League: Finals.
However, after the failure in the qualifiers for the Six Invitational 2023, the organization said goodbye to the roster, including the coaching staff.
In turn, Astralis made the final changes to the coaching bridge back in August when they let go of Forceful to DarkZero Esports. However, the team has since managed to directly qualify for the Six Invitational 2023, finishing fifth on the overall leaderboard.
