Chiefs Esports Club leaves Rainbow Six

The Australian esports organization Chiefs Esports Club has announced its retirement from the Rainbow Six discipline for an indefinite period. The club officially parted ways with its former roster and suspended all operations concerning the division.

" It's a difficult decision given the success we've had over the past few years. It's been an incredible run and one of the greatest dynasties in our club's history. We've enjoyed every minute of this very competitive league, however, with regional support dwindling and decisions key to we have a hard time justifying maintaining discipline at this time,” Nick Bobir, Chiefs Esports Club CEO.

The Chiefs Esports Club organization entered Rainbow Six last April by signing the Elevate roster. In a little over a year, the Australian team became the winner of Oceanic Nationals 2021 - Stage 1, APAC League 2021 Playoffs - Stage 3 and Oceanic Nationals 2021 - Finals, and also got into the TOP-3 following the results of APAC South 2021 - Stage 3 and Oceanic Championship Series 2022 - Stage 2, among others.

Also during this time, Chiefs Esports Club took part in two international tournaments: Six Sweden Major 2021 (9th-12th place) and Six Charlotte Major 2022 (13th-15th place).

" These technical issues have been a concern for a long time and we continued to believe that they would be resolved and appropriate solutions found, especially after the borders started to open up. However, this year has been noticeably worse, especially due to the deterioration of the office server infrastructure, which even caused us to receive penalties from the league in a situation that we consider unfair and wrong. It ended up leaving a bad taste for the league and was a key factor in our decision to leave, "- Michael Stewart, Chiefs Esports Club Operations Manager.

It is unclear if the team will continue to play together, however, they should be assigned a slot in the Asia-Pacific League 2022 - South Division.
