Team Empire and Virtus.pro players will continue playing in Rainbow Six under a neutral status
According to the Cybersport portal, the players of the Russian eSports organizations Team Empire and Virtus.pro will continue playing in Rainbow Six under a neutral status. In addition, Ubisoft will postpone the start of the Russian Major League indefinitely. At the same time, there was no official confirmation of the information from the company.
Team Empire and Virtus.pro are expected to take part in the European League 2022, which will start at the end of March. At the same time, Team Empire is a five-time winner of the Russian Major League.
At the same time, Ubisoft had previously postponed the start of the regional leagues of the new season. The updated schedule did not include the European League 2022, the details of which were promised to be announced later.
Other Russian clubs faced a similar situation. Earlier, ESL suspended CS:GO teams Virtus.pro and Gambit Esports from participating in their tournaments, including ESL Pro League Season 15. The tournament operator explained his decision by the fact that the organizations are somehow connected with the Russian Government. However, ESL did not restrict the players and allowed them to compete in the championship, but under a neutral status.
In addition, the Virtus.pro Dota 2 team was forcibly removed from GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022, which took place from March 2 to 6. Also, the VALORANT roster of Gambit Esports is forced to continue playing at VCT 2022: EMEA Challengers 1 under a neutral status.
Team Empire's current Rainbow Six roster is as follows:
- Scyther.
- Amision.
- Andreezy.
- eXoduSS.
- wTg.
- RayzerGM (coach)
Virtus.pro's current Rainbow Six roster is as follows:
