Gen.G Esports parts ways with PUBG roster
The South Korean esports organization Gen.G esports has announced the parting with its PUBG roster. Despite decent performances last season, the club decided not to renew the contracts with the players and let them go. It is noteworthy that Renba has already managed to find a new team by joining Freecs.
Today we say goodbye to the members of our PUBG roster as their contracts have come to an end. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the players and coaching staff with whom we have had the pleasure of working. We wish them only the best.
The former roster of Gen.G Esports was formed at the beginning of 2022, when the club signed Renba and Spear. During the season, the South Korean team became the winner of Battlegrounds Smash Cup Season 6 and Battlegrounds Smash Cup Season 7, and also made it to the top three at AfreecaTV PUBG League 2022 Season 1 and 2022 INCHEON CHALLENGE CUP.
It is noteworthy that the team also took part in the PUBG Global Championship 2022, where, however, they took only 31st place and earned a prize of $16,772.
The organization has not commented on its future in the discipline. It is likely that Gen.G Esports will remain in PUBG and present their next roster soon. In turn, Renba has already found a new home by joining the Freecs team.
