Blizzard announced new details for Overwatch League Season 4 and talked about the new format. The event starts in April and will be attended by 20 teams. The matches will be held online, but the developers of the esports discipline also do not exclude the possibility of transferring the event offline if the situation with COVID-19 improves.

The twenty participants will be divided into two divisions, one for Asian teams, that is, for teams from China and Korea, and the other for teams from North America and Europe. In the eastern division 8 squads will compete against each other, while in the western one the number of participants will be 12 teams. To ensure a level playing field, Blizzard will use the minimum ping setting. If there are players on the server whose server latency is better than the minimum value, then the system will automatically increase the ping to the players so that everyone fights on equal terms.
