Toronto Defiant left without their mentor
The management of the Toronto Defiant esports club spoke about the departure of team mentor Dong-gun 'KDG' Kim. Now the Overwatch roster is left without a mentor.
KDG joined Toronto Defiant in October 2020 and has been in a partnership for just over a year and a half. Together with him, the team was unable to achieve any interesting results. As part of the Overwatch League 2021 at various stages, the team took 9th-10th place, then 5-8th, or even 11th. reaching the playoffs, where a prize pool of $3,200,000 was drawn. Toronto Defiant's lack of results after KDG's arrival came as a surprise, as his collaborations with the Philadelphia Fusion and Seoul Dynasty were more productive. For example, Philadelphia, with the help of a coach, reached the top 4 of the Overwatch League 2020 Playoffs Grand Finals and earned $350,000, while Seoul Dynasty made it to the playoffs of Overwatch League 2019 and took 7-8th place there, receiving $200,000.
With the departure of the coach from Toronto Defiant, the Overwatch roster began to look like this:
- Heesu
- Twilight
- HOTBA
- CH0R0NG
- MuZe
- finale
- ALTHOUGH
Now Toronto Defiant are taking part in Overwatch League 2022 Regular Season Midseason Madness. In the overall standings, consisting of 12 teams, the team is in 6th place with a score of 4-2.
