The information that Schalke 04 Esports want to sell their slot in the League of Legends European Championship appeared 4 months ago. Then the representatives of the club said that such a move would help overcome some of the financial difficulties that arose as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. BILD journalist Max Backhaus has information according to which Schalke 04 Esports want to sell the slot to an unnamed investor at a price of $ 36,500,000.

Due to the sale of the Schalke 04 Esports slot, the roster players will most likely be disbanded and the esports club will not be able to play at LEC 2021. The team that will take the place of Schalke 04 in the list of participants in the League of Legends European Championship will be able to compete for the champion title only in the next year if Riot Games approves the deal.
