Intel Acquires LPL Team Name Rights from JGD Gawming
JDG Gaming and Intel told the community that they have started their partnership, which is planned to benefit the parties over the next two years. It implies that JGD Gaming will now play in the LPL under the name JGD Intel Esports Club. There is currently no information about how much the purchase of the rights to the team name cost Intel representatives.
JGD Gaming is the esports arm of the renowned Chinese company Jing Dong. The latter are engaged in e-commerce, and in May they announced the rebranding and relocation of the entire esports division to Beijing. There, by the way, is the main office of Jing Dong. Now JGD Gaming has contracts with 15 sponsors, including the tech giant Samsung.
Previously, JGD Gaming sold the rights to use their team name in the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. Then the title sponsor of JGD Gaming was Qualcomm, a company engaged in the development and research of wireless devices.
