Riot Games Reportedly Working on New League of Legends Title
Riot Games is reportedly developing a new project based on the League of Legends universe. The company’s Shanghai studio has opened multiple job positions tied to an unannounced title currently in development, which is expected to release on both PC and mobile platforms.
Open-World Project Rumored
According to information shared by SargeOP on X, the project is believed to be an open-world experience similar to Genshin Impact, set within the League of Legends universe. If accurate, this would mark one of Riot’s most ambitious titles to date.
Job listings on Riot’s official website support the existence of a large-scale project, with roles spanning combat design, animation, gameplay engineering, and art direction. All positions are linked to an unrevealed R&D title.
Shift in Development Priorities
Reports suggest that Riot may have adjusted its development roadmap to focus on this new project. An earlier extraction-based FPS, reportedly known as “Project T,” may have been scaled back or shelved as priorities shifted.
This aligns with previous rumors indicating that Riot had been exploring additional titles connected to the Valorant universe, though some of those projects may no longer be in active development.
What to Expect
While no official details have been confirmed, the idea of an open-world game set in the League of Legends universe has generated significant interest. If the project follows a structure similar to other large-scale live-service titles, it could represent a major expansion of Riot’s portfolio.
For now, the project remains unannounced, and further details will likely emerge as development progresses.
