DRX says goodbye to its League of Legends championship roster
The South Korean esports organization DRX has officially said goodbye to its League of Legends champion roster. All players and coaching staff have become free agents despite the club's desire to retain the 2022 World Championship winners. However, the organization added that it would look to re-sign individual players.
DRX announces termination of contracts with Kingen, Pyosik, Zeka, Deft and BeryL. DRX sincerely thanks the players for being part of the team's most brilliant journey. In order to continue the pleasant competition with these players, DRX will contact them to try to renew their contracts. Thank you for being part of the DRX 2022 program and DRX promises to write an even bigger story with top players next year.
Last season, the South Korean team made a huge breakthrough in terms of results. Despite a weak start, the team took second place in the LCK Regional Finals 2022, and then became the champion of the 2022 World Championship.
However, there are some controversies regarding the news of parting ways with the team. In particular, Deft himself recently expressed a desire to re-sign a contract with the DRX organization. On the other hand, Kingen and Zeka decided to become free agents to see their market value. In particular, according to JHYooHoo, Zeka wants to return to the LPL, and this will depend on how much he is offered.
