Dignitas Academy welcomes new faces
The leadership of the Dignitas esports club announces the arrival of two newcomers to their League of Legends academic roster. Lee 'Hoon' Jen-hoon and David 'Insanity' Chell will now play under the Dignitas Academy tag. Hoon comes straight from 5 Ronin, where he has been playing since April 22 last year, not including a 1-month hiatus. Insanity, in turn, was a free agent after leaving 100 Thieves Next. He played with them for six months.
Lee 'Hoon' Jen-hoon, 22, began his career as a professional League of Legends player in 2017 under the KeG Geyonggi tag. He later played for clubs such as Hanwha Life Esports, Afreeca Freecs and 5 Ronin. He achieved his greatest success with his teammates from the Afreeca Freecs. It was with them that Hoon became the winner of the KeSPA Cup 2019 and earned $34,604 for the team. All total tournament prize earnings exceeded the $12,000 mark.
David 'Insanity' Chell is the same age as Hoon and started his career a year early, but that doesn't make him any more successful in the League of Legends scene. He took 3rd-4th place at LCS Academy League Spring 2019 and NA Academy League Summer 2018, and also took first place in the closed qualifiers for LCS Proving Grounds Spring 2022 and 5-8th place in the second closed qualifiers for the same LCS Proving Grounds Spring 2022 All this allowed Insanity to earn just over $2,900 in prize money.
The incoming duo will play alongside Lawrence 'Exyu' Xu, Trevor 'Spawn' Kerr-Taylor and Juan 'JayJ' Hubert. When the updated Dignitas Academy roster will debut is currently unknown.
Now the Dignitas Academy League of Legends roster looks like this:
- Lee 'Hoon' Jen-hoon
- Lawrence 'Exyu' Xiu
- David 'Insanity' Chell
- Trevor 'Spawn' Kerr-Taylor
- Juan 'JayJ' Hubert
