Cloud9 made changes to their LoL roster
Cloud9 management spoke about the changes made to the League of Legends roster. Korean player Kim 'Winsome' Dong-kyung, formerly of the academic roster, will now represent the main roster on the professional stage.
Kim Dong-kyung will join Park 'Summit' Wu-tei, Robert 'Blaber' Huang, Ibrahim 'Fudge' Allami and Kim 'Berserker' Min-cheol. Jonah 'Isles' Rosario, in turn, will take a break from matches during the Winsome game in Cloud9, as he is also a sappo in the team. The updated team has already managed to play in official matches with Winsome. The player's nickname turned out to be quite suitable and the team won two victories in the confrontations with the Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses.
With the departure of Winsome, Cloud9 Academy has 9 active players left, including the eminent Jesper 'Zven' Svenningsen.
Cloud9 take part in two leagues at once: LCS Spring 2022 and LCS Academy Spring 2022. In the first one, players of the starting roster compete against such opponents as 100 Thieves, Dignitas, FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, Golden Guardians, Immortals and TSM. 10 clubs share a total prize pool of $200,000. The winner will take the main prize of $100,000 + invitation to MSI, the runner-up will earn $50,000, the bronze medalists will earn $30,000, and the 4th place team will receive a consolation prize of $20,000.
In LCS Academy Spring 2022, the composition of participants is exactly the same, but the teams are fighting for six invitations to Proving Grounds. Cash prizes are not played there.
