Changes in the Cloud9 Academy roster due to the transfer of players to the main roster
Due to the fact that the previous Cloud9 Academy roster has become the main one and now represents Cloud9 on the LCS, it was decided to add new players to the academic roster.
Topliner Lawrence "Lxwrence" Harvey Yap from USA, formerly known as "Speedo". He spent 2021 with the AOE Dream team, and also played for Cloud9 Amateur since 2020. It is not surprising that the organization supported Lawrence's transition to the academy.
The next addition to the C9A ranks was jungler Jacob "FrostForest" Chan, who previously played at TSM Amateur and Winthrop University. His last tournament for Winthrop University was the Philly Esports Collegiate Tournament, in which the collegiate team managed to beat opponents 3:1.
Rounding out the new trinity is support player Ryan "Qit0ng" Khan, who was previously a member of the amateur team Radiance.
It is worth noting that as an organization, Cloud9 recruits promising players and provides an opportunity to develop its potential. The fact that the players from the previous C9A roster were able to represent the main Cloud9 roster in the Lock-In tournament is proof of that. In addition, Lxwrence and Cloud9 have been in touch since 2020 and his current transition from amateur to academic also demonstrates their loyalty.
The current C9A roster is as follows:
- Topliner - Darshan "Darshan" Upadhya
- Topliner - Lawrence "Lxwrence" Harvey Yap
- Jungler - Jacob "FrostForest" Chan
- Jungler - Sebastian "Malice" Edholm
- Midlaner - Johan "Copy" Pathmanathan
- Boatliner - Calvin "k1ng" Truong
- Boatliner - Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen
- Support - Jonah "Isles" Rosario
