The Chinese venture capital firm Tencent has acquired 3.8% of the Remedy studio. They bought back part of the securities from Accendo Capital, which owns another 14%.
Remedy was delighted with this action by Tencent. According to a representative of a Finnish company, they are pleased that such a large-scale company paid attention to the work of the authors of Control, Max Payne and Alan Wake.
Tencent themselves say they are impressed by the Remedy team. The success of the latest Finnish releases influenced the Chinese corporation's decision to become a long-term shareholder in the studio.
