Pets, Fast Food, Alcohol, Cigarettes, and More: Poll Reveals What Gamers Are Willing to Sacrifice for GTA 6

If you had any doubts that many gamers wouldn’t be willing to sacrifice anything significant for GTA 6, you were wrong. A new report reveals some rather strange statistics about what gamers are offering in exchange for access to the most anticipated game of this generation—and to devote all their free time to it.

Unwind Media recently surveyed more than 1,300 gamers eagerly awaiting GTA 6, and the New York Post highlighted the results. According to the findings, more than 30% of respondents are willing to give up sex with their significant other for a month—and these are the ones who have already pre-ordered the game. Additionally, more than half of those surveyed (53%) are willing to give up alcohol, 43% are willing to quit smoking, and more than 40% are willing to give up fast food or social media. However, only 16% are ready to stop using their smartphones. There’s also a truly bizarre statistic: 13% would give up their pet to get early access to GTA 6.

1 in 5 sexually active GTA 6 fans would give up sex for a month to play the game one week early, according to a new survey.

7% of pet owners said they would give up their pet, rising to 13% among fans who pre-ordered.

As for more adequate stats, over 60% of gamers who pre-ordered GTA 6 have already taken time off from work. Another statistic was cited just recently: the number of vacation requests as of November 19 had increased by 17% compared to normal levels, and according to The Output, the absence of a huge number of people from their workplaces could cost the U.S. economy approximately $1 billion when GTA 6 is released.

Rockstar Games has also officially confirmed that pre-loading for GTA 6 will begin next week, on November 10, and has revealed the game's file size—212 GB. Moreover, according to Sensor Tower, pre-orders for GTA 6 are approaching 8 million copies (7.71), and potential revenue has risen to $751 million.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
