Updated Data Shows GTA 6 Has Sold 7.71 Million Copies Worldwide

With the official release just a couple of weeks away, GTA 6 is taking even more center stage and making headlines, although it feels as though Rockstar’s upcoming project has been in the spotlight all year long. This comes as no surprise, as the game is the most anticipated title of this generation, and recent data shows that pre-order numbers have risen significantly compared to last week.

Sensor Tower, which reviews GTA 6 pre-order figures weekly, has revealed in its latest report that nearly 1 million people worldwide (790,000) pre-ordered the game over the past week. Total sales of the game now stand at nearly 8 million copies (7.71), and revenue has risen to $751 million. The buyer breakdown remains the same: 74% on PlayStation and 26% on Xbox. Last week, the total was 6.92 million, with 470,000 copies sold during the week.

Sensor Tower has released its latest weekly GTA 6 Sales Tracker update, estimating that GTA VI picked up an additional 790,000 pre-orders in the past week taking the total to 7.71 million with around 2 weeks to go.

The estimated platform split remains PlayStation 74%, XBOX 26%.

Last week, it was also noted that the previous pre-order record—8 million—belongs to Cyberpunk 2077, and no one has any doubt now that GTA 6 will break it. Rockstar has also officially confirmed that pre-loading for GTA 6 will begin next week, on November 10, and has revealed the game's file size—212 GB—which was already reported by an insider last week.
