GTA 6 Won’t Be Catered to the Modern Agenda - It’s Still an "Absurd Game"

There’s exactly one month left until the release of GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and fans’ anticipation is higher than ever. This is largely because a new game trailer was released last week, and since then, some additional details have emerged—particularly regarding its gameplay.

But even despite the widespread acclaim, some players remain skeptical about GTA 6, particularly concerned that the game might cave to today's agenda—as is often the case with modern releases—which almost always affects their quality and draws criticism from the community. However, according to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, this is not the case with GTA 6.

The reporter made this statement during a recent livestream with TGG on YouTube. According to Schreier, GTA 6 features quite a few absurd scenes, including Rockstar’s signature humor, plenty of raunchy scenes, etc.—and the game definitely hasn’t “gone woke,” as you can check out his words below:

“It seems to me that many people have picked up on the subject of the 2022 article about the withdrawal of some jokes by Rockstar Games, recognizing that Rockstar is giving up its humor and going towards woke. In my opinion, this is a complete exaggeration. It's still going to be a totally absurd game.

GTA 6 is a combination of a very mature plot with an extremely childish sensitivity and a world. I suspect that the story itself will prove to be really interesting and engaging - in a way that can not be fully seen, watching only advertisements or listening to radio stations that may seem goofy.”

Schreier also recently released a massive feature on the development of GTA 6, in which he spoke with various developers. One of them, Phil Hooker, the Director of Technology, stated that the game is supposedly not yet fully ready —but that’s not actually the case. Hooker meant that the studio is constantly testing various aspects of the game to ensure everything is in order for a smooth release.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches in one month, on November 19, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version yet, but a recent report claims the game will come to the platform in the first quarter of 2027.
