Rumors About GTA 6 Being Unfinished Just Got Debunked

There is exactly one month left until GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year, launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans recently worried that the game wasn’t quite ready, but it turned out one of the developers’ comments had been misread.

The worry came from a new article by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, titled “The Making of Grand Theft Auto VI,” which covers the game’s long development. While speaking with Rockstar, he interviewed Phil Hooker, the Director of Technology, who revealed the following:

“The game’s never completely settled. We never have an exact blueprint. Even within the last few months, we’ve changed things.”

Some fans guessed that, despite the release next month, the game is still unfinished and might even be delayed. But as reported by Vice, Hooker made clear that Rockstar keeps working on GTA 6 almost right up to the November 19 launch, refining every detail to make it as polished as possible. So there is no sign that the story is unfinished or that the game will ship incomplete.

Digital Foundry’s technical analysts also claimed the new GTA 6 trailer released this week shows the game is "extremely polished" and that the final version will most likely look like this, if not better. Even so, some players suspect a graphics downgrade, though that may simply come from how the trailer was edited.
