Silent Hill 2 Remake Might Receive ‘Born from a Wish’ Story DLC Announcement Soon

Last week marked two years since the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake, developed by Bloober Team. A recent discovery suggests the developers may be preparing extra content for the game, and fans of the original title will find it familiar.

Dataminers on social media noticed that the game’s Steam version got an update on the exact day of the anniversary. Updates like this often signal upcoming DLC, and in this case it likely points to “Born from a Wish,” a story expansion that was missing from the remake and that fans have long hoped to see.

Silent Hill 2 remake got an important update on SteamDB. A Stats Schema update almost always singifies an upcoming big update with new content and new achievements. It hasn't been officially confirmed whether SH2R will get such an update, but this is an important change that's worth keeping an eye on. It was added on the game's 2nd anniversary.

Born from a Wish tells the story from the perspective of Maria, one of the main characters of Silent Hill 2, before she meets the protagonist, James. The expansion was originally included in a special edition of the original game, but Konami hasn’t explained why it wasn’t part of the remake released two years ago. Bloober Team may well have expanded it significantly, as it did with the main game, but that is only speculation for now. Still, the Steam update could hint at an announcement.

Last month, Screen Burn released a new Silent Hill spin-off, Townfall. Konami also revealed the studio plans to release even more games in the franchise and that a “second and third wave of games” has already been considered.
