CD Projekt RED Continues to Work on Project Hadar, Studio’s New IP

CD Projekt RED is confirmed to be working on several projects at once, with The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 presumably the main ones. Besides new entries in its established universes, the Polish studio is also developing Project Hadar, a completely new IP.

The studio officially describes Project Hadar as an “emotional, open-world experience,” and early job postings suggested it would be an action RPG focused on melee combat. In a recent interview with Biznes, CD Projekt RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated the team already has a clear vision of the game and that work is progressing actively, though it hasn’t reached pre-production yet. “This has been our biggest undertaking to date, taking us several years, but at this point we can say we have a coherent vision for this world and its key elements. The team has begun work on the game, although it's not yet in pre-production.”

This summer, the studio’s financial report confirmed that only 24 specialists were working on the game. That may have changed in the months since, but it still shows Project Hadar is a long way from release.

CD Projekt RED has also confirmed that Songs of the Past, a new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (now The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered), will release in 2027, and that the fourth Witcher game follows next year. There are also the Cyberpunk sequel, a remake of the first Witcher game, and a multiplayer spin-off known as Project Sirius; all of this suggests that the studio’s new IP may not be released until at least 2030.
