Smile Star Wants to Play in Cyberpunk 2077 Movie Adaptation

Paramount Pictures has officially confirmed it’s working on a Cyberpunk 2077 film. The project is being made with CD Projekt RED, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who produced the Transformers and G.I. Joe films, is one of the producers.

The director, the cast, and, most importantly, the premiere date are still unknown. Fans have already started guessing about the cast, and some actors have shown interest. One of them is Kyle Gallner, best known for playing Joel in Smile and Smile 2, who hinted on his social media page that he’d like to be in a Cyberpunk 2077 movie. You can check out his post below:

Take me to night city.

Users reacted well in the comments, calling him a great pick for the main character, V. Some also claimed he would have good chemistry with Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves in the game. Still, it’s too early to draw conclusions about the cast. The film doesn’t have a director or screenwriter yet, and it’s unclear whether it will be a direct adaptation of the game. Even so, it’s nice to see actors like Gallner showing interest.

As for the games, CD Projekt RED is officially developing Cyberpunk 2, the sequel to the 2020 game. Details are scarce, but the studio has stated it will include multiplayer, which the original lacked, and a new city inspired by Chicago. Night City from Cyberpunk 2077 will also be available to explore.

Early last month, Cyberpunk 2077 had also sold 40 million copies, and The Phantom Liberty has sold 15 million copies, cementing the franchise as a key component of the company’s future success.
