Five New Actors Confirmed for the Upcoming Far Cry TV Series

This week brought a major Far Cry update, though unfortunately not a new game, but news on the upcoming TV series instead. On social media, director Noah Hawley confirmed filming has officially begun, though no further details were shared.

Now, it’s been confirmed that five new actors have also joined the show's cast, and there are several recognizable names: Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou. As with the previously announced cast, it's still unclear which characters they'll play in the Far Cry TV series.

What could possibly go wrong?

Lizzy Caplan, Rob Mac, and Steve Buscemi had already been confirmed as the show’s cast earlier. Beyond that, plot details remain sparse, but Hawley has claimed the show won't tie directly into the video games, instead following a new story each season. A premiere date for FX hasn't been announced yet.

As for Far Cry videogames, it was revealed in July Ubisoft is shifting the franchise's direction: a previously planned extraction shooter has been officially canceled, with work now underway on a new, more ambitious project codenamed Kodiak. Meanwhile, Far Cry 7, the next mainline entry reportedly set in Alaska, is still in development, though its release date remains unknown amid ongoing reports of a difficult production.
