Early Data Suggests GTA 6 Already Sold Almost 4.5 Million Copies and Earned Around $430 Million

The headline story of the week was undoubtedly the massive GTA 6 leak from hacker Cyberleek. Definitely not something Rockstar planned for, especially with Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, the game's upcoming Netflix presentation, right around the corner, but the leaker doesn't seem deterred and looks set to keep revealing more of what 2026's most anticipated game actually looks like.

Taking a quick break from the leaks, Sensor Tower has shared rough estimates for GTA 6 pre-orders so far. According to the source, the game has already sold nearly 4.5 million copies, which is a pretty striking number considering pre-orders have only been open for under two months. Sensor Tower also puts total revenue at roughly $429 million, with most buyers coming from PlayStation 5. You can check out more from the report below:

GTA VI has reportedly pre-sold 4.38M copies, according to Sensor Tower estimates:

77% PS5 - 3.38M units

23% Xbox - over 1M units

Estimated revenue: $429M

(Not official figures)

PlayStation 5 accounted for the largest chunk of estimated revenue at $331 million, with Xbox making up $98 million. Sensor Tower had previously reported that nearly 90% of GTA 6 pre-orders were for the $100 Ultimate Edition, something Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also confirmed, though without sharing exact numbers. As for GTA 6 leaks, a new clip surfaced today showing a daytime flight over Vice City, the fifth gameplay leak from the game so far.
