Sensor Tower: Almost 90% of GTA 6 Pre-Orders Are $100’s Ultimate Edition

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently revealed that most GTA 6 pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition, priced at $100. A new report now puts a rough number on just how many players have gone for that specific version, and the figure is genuinely staggering.

According to Sensor Tower data reported by GamesIndustry.biz, 89% of GTA 6 pre-orders are for the $100 Ultimate Edition, suggesting a huge number of players are willing to pay an extra $20 for the additional content. Around 90% of Xbox pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition, with the figure sitting at 88.5% on PlayStation. Karl Kontus, SVP and GM of Video Game Insights at Sensor Tower, claimed, "I have never seen a 90% premium share before", noting premium editions usually make up 10–20% of pre-orders and only rarely approach half.

Around 89% of GTA 6 pre-orders are reportedly for the most expensive $100 Ultimate Edition, according to Sensor Tower.

The standard edition costs $80 so most people who have already pre-ordered are choosing to spend an extra $20.

These numbers are based on early pre-orders in the US and five major European markets, so they could change before the game launches.

That's honestly not too surprising—compared to the standard edition, the Ultimate Edition includes extra weapons and vehicles, plus exclusive content like a mod shop, hair salon, clothing store, and tattoo shop. It's quite possible that's not even the full list of Ultimate Edition perks.

As for GTA 6 itself, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix August 27. According to a recent leak, it could feature three episodes, more like a mini-series, though Rockstar hasn't confirmed any details about the presentation yet.
