Fight with Sentinel In Marvel’s Wolverine Is Looking Much Like Ben 10 Game on PlayStation 2
Marvel’s Wolverine—the new game from Insomniac—is set to be released next month exclusively on PlayStation 5. The studio has taken a significant shift from its Spider-Man titles; Marvel’s Wolverine will not feature an open world, and its combat system will be considerably more intense and brutal, not to mention the inclusion of dissections and copious amounts of blood.
Over the past 24 hours, Insomniac Games has revealed some details about its upcoming project and shown off new gameplay footage—including a boss fight with the Sentinels. However, gamers have, strangely enough, compared this scene to a PlayStation 2 game —Ben 10: Protector of Earth. In the video below, you can see that the scene in Marvel’s Wolverine largely mirrors the 2007 game, where Logan has to dodge the attacks of a massive opponent—incidentally, many people have joked about this in the comments, as the resemblance is indeed striking.
Congratulations to Insomniac Games for being inspired by Ben 10
Alongside the developer details, the game's first early reviews from various outlets have also started coming in following the August 13 embargo lift. Critics have generally praised the emotional story and spectacular combat system, though several noted a lack of major innovation from Insomniac.
Meanwhile, IMDb has revealed Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is officially in production, though the studio hasn't made any announcement of its own yet. The listing names Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith as game directors, with Yuri Lowenthal returning to voice Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Marvel’s Wolverine will release on September 15 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
