GTA 6 May Have Earned a Decent Sum by Netflix Deal—Equivalent to Selling a Million Copies of the Game

August 6 was another big day for GTA 6 fans; in case you missed it, Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on August 27, landing exclusively on Netflix before hitting the studio's own platforms. It's a genuinely cool collaboration, and it's believed to have already earned the developers a substantial sum, roughly equivalent to significant game sales.

That estimate comes from Tom Henderson, a well-known gaming insider who's regularly delivered scoops on GTA 6. On his X page, he suggested the deal between Take-Two Interactive and Netflix has likely already generated a decent amount of revenue for GTA 6, even though the game hasn't launched yet. And while Henderson admits we're unlikely to learn all the details, he predicts the game may have already brought in revenue roughly equivalent to a million copies sold, as you can check out in his comments below:

GTA 6 revenue has probably already exceeded the equivalent to one million units sold because of the Netflix deal. I doubt we'll get exact numbers, but it was a significant amount to make Take-Two take that deal.

Official details on Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look remain unknown for now, but Netflix users have noticed the upcoming footage could run as long as 30 minutes, and fans are certainly hoping that holds up. Even if it doesn't, the "An Extended Look" title suggests Rockstar Games will cover a lot of ground on its upcoming project—and a gameplay reveal seems all but guaranteed, which would be a big deal on its own.
