Netflix Is Reportedly Making a Live-Action Persona Series

The Persona franchise is reportedly expanding beyond video games, as Netflix is said to be developing a live-action series based on Atlus' acclaimed RPG universe. The project would join the upcoming Persona 4 Revival remake and the highly anticipated Persona 6 as the next major addition to the franchise.

Netflix Reportedly Developing a Live-Action Persona Series

According to an exclusive report from Variety, Netflix has begun work on a live-action adaptation of Persona. While the streaming platform declined to comment on the report, several key creative figures have already been linked to the project.

Christopher Monfette, known for his work on 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, is reportedly attached as the series' writer, showrunner, and executive producer.

Representing Sega is Toru Nakahara, producer of the Sonic the Hedgehog film trilogy and the upcoming OutRun adaptation, who will also serve as an executive producer.

Story Details Remain Under Wraps

Netflix has yet to reveal any official information regarding the show's cast, release window, or storyline.

However, the adaptation is expected to stay true to the core concept of the Persona games, following high school students who live double lives as they battle supernatural threats using powerful manifestations known as Personas.

Persona's Future Looks Busy

The reported Netflix adaptation arrives at a time when the Persona franchise is preparing for several major releases.

Persona 4 Revival, a full remake of Persona 4, is scheduled to launch on February 18, 2027, for PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.

Meanwhile, Persona 6 was officially unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. Although Atlus has not announced a release date, the game is confirmed for PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

If the reports prove accurate, the live-action series would mark another major step in Persona's expansion beyond gaming, bringing one of Atlus' most successful franchises to Netflix audiences worldwide.
