Netflix Releases a New Teaser and Stills From Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2

With just over two weeks left until the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2, Netflix continues to build hype among fans. A new teaser appeared on the official Netflix Geeked account, along with several stills that hint the sequel will be quite brutal and dark.

Most of the new stills feature Weak Kingsley, a seasoned mercenary whom Netflix names as one of the heroes of the new story. In one still, he's covered in blood, screaming and aiming a pistol, while in another, he's sitting in a hospital next to the bed of a badly injured comrade hooked up to life support.

A close-up of the character has especially caught fans' attention. His cybernetic eyes have several pupils at once, and blood is running from his nose. This is exactly how the first season showed David Martinez approaching cyberpsychosis, so Kingsley may also be on the edge. However, Netflix hasn't officially confirmed this.

The grim tone of the stills matches the creators' promises. They describe the new season as "sadder, darker, more bloody, more raw," while Netflix itself calls it:"A raw chronicle of redemption and revenge in a city that thrives on violence."The second season will tell a standalone story with an entirely new cast, so you don't need to watch the first one. Besides Kingsley, viewers will meet film buff Roman Carax, who loves the aesthetics of retro movies, netrunner D, and corporate heir Talia Yang. Visually, the creators drew inspiration from 1990s cinema, including Pulp Fiction and Léon.

Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red are once again working on the anime. Kai Ikarashi, who directed the sixth episode of the first season, is now the director, while Bartosz Sztybor remains the showrunner. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres on Netflix on October 20, 2026. All 10 episodes will be available at once.
