Nvidia Expands Its AI Ecosystem Through New Strategic Partnerships in South Korea

Nvidia has announced a series of major partnerships with some of South Korea's leading technology companies, strengthening its position in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence sector while securing critical components for future AI infrastructure.

The agreements were unveiled during a visit to Seoul by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, where the company confirmed collaborations with several major Korean corporations, including SK Hynix, SK Telecom, Naver, Doosan, and LG Group.

SK Hynix to Play a Key Role in Nvidia's AI Expansion

One of the most significant announcements is a multi-year agreement with SK Hynix, a global leader in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) technology.

The partnership is expected to help Nvidia secure long-term supplies of advanced memory chips, which have become increasingly important as demand for AI accelerators continues to grow worldwide. The agreement reportedly spans more than two years and includes the possibility of future extensions.

Nvidia already sources billions of dollars worth of components from SK Hynix each year, and those volumes are expected to rise as the company expands its presence across AI, robotics, supercomputing, and next-generation computing platforms.

New AI Data Center Projects Announced

Several South Korean companies are also planning to deploy Nvidia technologies as part of major infrastructure projects.

SK Telecom intends to develop a gigawatt-scale AI cloud platform powered by Nvidia hardware, with its first dedicated AI data center expected to launch in 2027.

At the same time, Naver and Doosan are preparing to integrate Nvidia solutions into their own cloud and data center initiatives as competition in the AI infrastructure market intensifies.

Doosan's involvement extends beyond cloud computing. The company is expected to incorporate Nvidia's physical AI technologies into future projects, while some of its power systems and advanced materials could be utilized in Nvidia's flagship Blackwell AI platforms.

Nvidia and LG Target Humanoid Robotics

Another major area of cooperation involves LG Group, which plans to work with Nvidia on technologies related to humanoid robots.

The partnership will focus on AI architectures, electronics, mechanical systems, and the broader infrastructure required to support next-generation robotics. The two companies are also expected to collaborate on advanced cooling and power technologies for future AI-focused data centers.

Announcements Come Amid Market Volatility

The partnership announcements coincided with a sharp downturn in global technology markets. South Korea's Kospi Index fell nearly 9%, while shares of major technology firms, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, declined by more than 10% during trading.

The market reaction followed stronger-than-expected employment data in the United States, which fueled concerns that the Federal Reserve could keep interest rates elevated for a longer period.

Despite the sell-off, Nvidia remained confident about the future of the AI industry. Jensen Huang described the market weakness as a short-term event and reiterated his belief that artificial intelligence will continue to be one of the most important growth sectors in technology.

The new agreements further strengthen Nvidia's relationships with key South Korean partners while reinforcing the company's central role in the global AI supply chain and infrastructure ecosystem.
