Sega Announced New Crazy Taxi Title, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, at Xbox Game Showcase 2026

One of the most surprising, talked-about, and definitely the most nostalgic announcements at the recent Xbox Games Showcase was the return of the iconic Crazy Taxi franchise. After countless rumors and leaks, SEGA finally revealed what the new game will look like—and they did it in style, featuring The Offspring's "All I Want" in the debut trailer.

Previous rumors suggested that the new installment of Crazy Taxi would be a AAA project and include multiplayer features. Now, the first official details about the game have been revealed. Crazy Taxi: World Tour will feature a full story campaign, with the main character being a driver named Axel, who is on a quest to find his car, which was stolen by a mysterious villainous organization wearing masks. The developers also confirmed that the open world will include five different cities, an arcade mode reminiscent of the original Dreamcast game, and multiplayer features that allow players to compete against each other. Steam users have also noticed that Crazy Taxi: World Tour will be protected by the anti-piracy system Denuvo and that SEGA utilized generative AI during its development. The game is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
