Windrose Broke Another Milestone as New Pirate Game Sold 1.5 Million Copies

Developed by Kraken Express, the new pirate simulator Windrose has become one of the biggest releases in April, especially considering that the game wasn't released as a full version but only as an early access title. Nevertheless, it managed to attract a large audience and sell 1 million copies in less than a week —which is undoubtedly a tremendous success.

According to industry analyses, Windrose has generated approximately $30 million in revenue for its developers in just 10 days, but that’s far from the end of it. The studio announced that the game has already sold 1.5 million copies and released a special trailer to mark the occasion, in which it thanked the players. You can check it out below:

The developers have also released a first big update to the game aimed at fixing bugs, but it also includes some new features. Specifically, this concerns new building elements. The studio will continue to release new updates for Windrose, but don’t expect any new content in the next six months, as Kraken Express intends to fix the game from a technical standpoint first and only then add new features.
