Gears of War: E-Day Is Praised by Game Series Creator, Cliff Bleszinski

Gears of War: E-Day is the latest game series installment, developed by The Coalition studio in cooperation with People Can Fly. The game is confirmed to serve as a prequel to the original Gears of War video game.

The release day for Gears of War: E-Day is still not confirmed by The Coalition or Xbox Game Studios, and while it hasn't happened yet, the game recently received big praise from the franchise creator, Cliff Bleszinski. During the latest interview with The Expansion Pass, he confirmed that Gears of War is going back to its roots with E-Day, and the game gave him goosebumps. “I think they’re doing the whole go back to give the people what they want. I think the possibilities for cinematic moments are tremendous with that they’re doing. I got goosebumps when I saw, Marcus falling in that hand, went down and it end up being Dom. I think, they’re really, writing the ship. You’re not going to be fighting those stupid robots or anything, it’s just going to be making the Locust scary again, and seeing Marcus, you know, struggle with just one Locust in that trailer, I think was brilliant. And I have high hopes for it and I can’t wait to see what they put out for it.

If I like it, I’m going to be honest about it, and if I don’t like it, I got nothing to lose, to be honest.”

It’s curious that The Coalition studio considered making the sixth installment of Gears of War that would have been the continuation of Gears 5 instead of a prequel. That was recently revealed by Liam J. McIntyre, the voice actor of JD Fenix from Gears of War 4 and Gears 5.

As for Gears of War: E-Day, the game will be shown at Gears of War: E-Day Direct, which takes place on June 7, immediately after Xbox Games Showcase. Xbox also confirmed the presentation dedicated to Gears of War: E-Day will last 30 minutes. The events of Gears of War: E-Day take place 14 years before the original title. We will see the first days of Emergence Day and focus on Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.
