The game is likely to be the sequel of Metro Exodus, and, as title reveals, set in the year of 2039. We also saw some possible intro and cutscene of Metro 2039, which are not confirmed to be part of the game, but we don’t have to wait too long to receive the official look at the new Metro video game. Also, it was revealed that 4A Games developed another Metro title that would have been the adaptation of Metro 2034 novel, set between January 2023 and December 2034, and featured Hunter as the main character. It also included a fully open-world, with a possibility to use metro tunnels as well. Unfortunately, it was cancelled in 2022, but 4A Games is likely to use some features from the project in the upcoming Metro 2039.
