Concept Art and Screenshots of Cancelled Metro Video Game Revealed

As was revealed recently, 4A Games, the developers of Metro game series, cancelled a new franchise installment in 2022, with some of game’s details surfacing online. Now, more information was leaked, specifically, the concept art and screenshots from its footage.

Gamersky reveals the first look at the cancelled Metro video game; specifically, a couple of concept arts and screenshots are taken from the game’s menu. You can check them below:

According to the information we know so far, this cancelled Metro title would have been the adaptation of Metro 2034 novel, set between January 2023 and December 2034, and featured Hunter as the main character. It also would have been a fully open-world Metro game, with a possibility to use metro tunnels as well. However, for some reasons 4A Games decided to cancel the project in 2022.

However, there is still good news for all Metro fans, as the new game is reportedly set to be announced next week, which was confirmed by multiple gaming insiders. In a recent report, Jez Corden even mentioned the game will be titled Metro 2039, and it may use some concepts from the cancelled 2022 title.

More importantly, the game is set to be officially confirmed on April 16—the same day when PlayStation’s State of Play is rumored to take place.
