Cancelled Metro 4 Video Game Surfaced Online
It was revealed that 4A Games had been working on the fourth installment of Metro game series, and according to the dataminer’s information, the game was cancelled back in 2022. Now, this and more information have been leaked and surfaced online.
As reported by Reddit user biohazard_fanatic, it was a fully open-world game featuring Hunter from multiple Metro video games as its main character. The game was reportedly set between January 2033 and December 2034 and was inspired by Metro 2034 novel. Also, some early screenshots were leaked, and more information you can check out below:
"The game was about hunter and took place from Jan 2033 to Dec 2034 it was fully open world, had a full crafting system with alt ammo types and more. You had an upgradeable NBC suit, Khan and Bourbon were main characters too. There were rumours in different stations you could disprove such as alcohol numbing radiation and females wearing NBC suits shooting quicker than males."

More game details appeared in some Reddit conversations, as it was revealed the game would have allowed players to travel not only across the gaming map but through metro tunnels as well. Artem, the main character of Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, and Metro: Exodus, still could have appeared in the game, but as someone who retired, not as a playable character. The game also included multiple factions, including Nazi and Red.
It’s a pity that 4A Games cancelled the new Metro video game back in 2022, but rumors are circulating that the new one will be announced next week, on April 16, as it was confirmed by multiple insiders. There is also the factor of PlayStation’s State of Play show that is reportedly happening the same day, which only adds more fuel to the fire. Who knows, maybe the new Metro video game will incorporate the findings from 2022’s cancelled title.
