Insider Confirms Naughty Dog Developing a New Uncharted Video Game

Naughty Dog is confirmed to be working on their new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet—an upcoming sci-fi action-adventure set that was announced during The Game Awards 2024. But there are more speculations that the studio is actually working on another title, and we have another piece of evidence that it’s related to the Uncharted game series.

Earlier this month, Shaun Escayg, the director of the latest Uncharted video game, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, posted a mysterious image on his Instagram account, which made the fans think it could be a teaser for the new Uncharted video game. A few days after, we received information that Naughty Dog actually worked on a new Uncharted before the COVID-19 pandemic, but we don’t know at what stage the game is right now. At last, gaming insider Alir, who was the first to leak that PlayStation’s State of Play is set to take place on April 16 and a new Metro video game announcement, although neither is confirmed yet, reveals that Naughty Dog is actually working on a new Uncharted video game, as you can check out below:

“Naughty Dog has been developing a second single player game alongside Intergalactic for a few years now.

Do you think it could be a new Uncharted?

Yes, it's indeed an Uncharted game.”

The fans are also thinking about Naughty Dog possibly working on the third The Last of Us, which was recently (once again) teased by studio’s director, Neil Druckmann. However, it is now seeming more likely that the new Uncharted is the second game, which is in development at the studio.

Although Nathan Drake’s story has ended in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, there are still plenty of stories we can see. We have Chloe Frazer, the main character of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, whose story is unlikely to be limited to just one game; Sam Drake, the brother of Nathan, who, as we know, loves some kind of adventure; and Cassie Drake, Nathan’s daughter, who might follow in her father's footsteps. But Naughty Dog also may create a completely new story to start the franchise from a clean slate.
